TEACHING
I have experience teaching Mixed Media art classes to students of all ages. My classes are fun to work collaboratively in groups or individually. Projects and lesson plans include working with a variety of materials such as paint enhancers, papers, chalks, paints and how to apply them. The focus is to keep students engaged in their interests of composition, goals and personal expression. I’ve taught and created lesson plans for Intersessions for Design Tech high school, Bay Area Ca. This included outings to galleries in San Francisco, videos, group murals and art history education.
One of the most memorable classes I held was for teachers of SMCOE in San Mateo Ca. It was a workshop for a week. I taught teachers about mixed media applications, materials needed and budget costs to set up for their own classes. The intent was to give a learning and hands on art experience model for classes where they teach. I also give workshops for vision boards. Everyone loves to create their dreams and life goals with this kind of painting. It’s fun and revealing of your inner self and creativity!
SMCOE Corporate event for Create Mix and Mingle
I taught a Mixed Media painting corporate event at Create Mix and Mingle for SMCOE educators K-12 and college educators. The purpose of the event was to demonstrate how art materials are used, for art lesson plans for their own students. I also introduced them to the names of art brokers to get affordable budgets of bulk orders for their classes. I included where to source lesson plans for their individual mixed media painting and sculpture projects. It was really fun and a great success for all participants!
